LUCAS
BRAKE CENTRE
Most
of the motoring public have heard the name LUCAS, and that it is a national
brand name for electrical and braking components.
We at Mendem Motors are proud to have been appointed as a specialist LUCAS
BRAKE CHECK CENTRE.
Our skilled technicians will be trained further in the field of ABS and
the newest systems by Lucas and we will be offering quality genuine Lucas
parts from stock on a fast fit basis.
From time to time we will be offering in conjunction with Lucas, various
FREE safety checks, such as electronic brake fluid condition testing.
NEW NEW NEW
Mendem
Motors have added the new AUTO-COM diagnostic
engine management equipment to our already impressive range of turning tools.
Auto-Com is the latest aid to on board fault code reading, fault diagnosis
and engine system resetting.
This new equipment will help keep us at the forefront of fault finding on
computer controlled engine management systems.
Keeping us one small step behind the main dealers and one big step ahead of most other independent garages.
TOOTH DECAY
In most modern car
engines there is a part so vital that to forget its timely replacement can
be fatal, not only for the engine, but your pocket!
This is the camshaft
timing belt.
A rubber toothed belt that keeps
the rotating engine parts in perfect harmony. When so frequently they do break,
this balance is upset with the inevitable happening, bent valves at worst
costing from a few hundred pounds to possibly nearer a thousand, or even a
new engine.
The odds of belt failure can be greatly reduced by changing the cambelt according
to the manufactures 36 and 80,000 miles or 3 to 6 years on low mileage.
FLOOD WARNING
With all the
flooding that has occurred last winter, in the course of our breakdown service,
we recovered over 80 vehicles with blown engines.
Some of these vehicles had driven through less than 12 inches of water, but
there air intake was still low enough to suck water in the engine with the
resulting engine damage. Many required new engines, costing upward of £1500.
Don't let your car soak up your cash. Think twice about entering flood
water.
